Start the mock test

How it works

  1. Part 1 · 4–5 min

An interview: your name, where you’re from, and short questions about everyday topics like home, work or study, and free time.

  2. Part 2 · 3–4 min

A task card on your screen. You get one minute to prepare, then talk for one to two minutes without interruption.

  3. Part 3 · 4–5 min

A discussion: deeper, more abstract questions linked to your Part 2 topic.

Questions

Is the IELTS Speaking mock test free?

Yes. When you sign up you get welcome Boo, which covers a full mock test (about 12 minutes). After that, a call costs a few Boo a minute, and you earn Boo by practising.

Is it like the real IELTS Speaking test?

It follows the same three parts and timings: an interview about everyday topics, a one to two minute talk from a task card after a minute to prepare, and a deeper discussion. Zoe stays neutral during the test, like an examiner.

Do I get a band score?

Yes. At the end you get an estimated band for Fluency and Coherence, Lexical Resource, and Grammatical Range and Accuracy, with tips for each. Pronunciation is not scored yet. It is an estimate to practise with, not an official score.

What do I need?

A phone or computer with a microphone, and a quiet place. It works in your browser.
