1. 1. Your account

   You need an account to use most of Vaboo. Keep your sign-in details to yourself; you are responsible for what happens on your account. Give us accurate information, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account.

   Children under 13 may only use Vaboo on an account created and supervised by a parent or guardian, ideally with kids’ mode turned on (Settings). Kids’ mode turns off contact with real people and purchases, limits AI calls each day and tells the AI tutors they are talking with a child. The parent or guardian is responsible for the child’s use.

2. 2. What Vaboo offers

   • Lessons with independent human tutors, booked and paid through Vaboo.
   • AI tutors you can chat and talk with, practice games, level checks, role-plays and live classes and battles, some hosted by AI.
   • Messaging between learners and tutors.

3. 3. AI tutors

   AI tutors are computer programs, not people. They can make mistakes, including in corrections, translations, facts and level estimates. Don’t rely on them for medical, legal, financial or safety advice. What you say on an AI call or chat is processed by AI service providers to produce replies, subtitles and summaries (see the Privacy Policy).

4. 4. Boo

   Boo are credits used inside Vaboo for AI calls, speaking seats in live classes and gifts. You can buy Boo packs, and earn Boo through practice, streaks, leagues and invites.

   • Boo have no cash value and can’t be exchanged, transferred or sold.
   • Boo you earn expire 30 days after you earn them; bought Boo don’t expire.
   • Bought Boo aren’t refundable once used. If something went wrong with a purchase, contact us and we’ll look into it.
   • We may change what things cost in Boo; prices are shown before you spend them.

5. 5. Vaboo Plus

   Vaboo Plus is a monthly subscription that includes a daily allowance of free AI call minutes (shown on the Plus page); calls beyond it use Boo as usual. Unused minutes don’t carry over.

   • It renews automatically each month until you cancel.
   • You can cancel any time from the Plus page (Manage subscription). You keep Plus until the end of the month you’ve paid for; we don’t refund part-months.
   • We’ll tell you before any price change takes effect, and you can cancel before it does.

6. 6. Lessons with tutors

   Tutors on Vaboo are independent; they aren’t our employees, and each is responsible for their own lessons. We check tutor applications, but we don’t guarantee any tutor’s teaching or results.

   • Lessons are paid when booked. A cancelled lesson that was paid for is refunded.
   • Tutors receive the lesson price minus Vaboo’s service fee (15%), paid out through Stripe.
   • Please keep lessons and payments on Vaboo, so both sides are protected.

7. 7. For tutors

   If you teach on Vaboo you confirm that what you tell us about yourself is true, that you’re allowed to work as a tutor where you live, and that you’ll handle your own taxes. If you create an AI twin, you agree to its being made from the photos, videos and descriptions you give us, and you earn the share shown in your settings when learners call it.

8. 8. How to behave

   Don’t use Vaboo to:

   • harass, threaten, bully or discriminate against anyone;
   • share sexual, violent or hateful content, or anything illegal;
   • contact or approach children inappropriately;
   • spam, scam, impersonate others or misuse other people’s data;
   • break, overload or reverse-engineer Vaboo, or get around its limits or payments.

   You can report people and messages in the app. We may remove content and suspend or close accounts that break these terms.

9. 9. Your content

   You keep the rights to what you post (messages, profile, photos, videos, lesson notes). You give us permission to store, show and process it to run Vaboo, for example to show your tutor profile or deliver your messages.

10. 10. Closing your account

    You can delete your account in Settings at any time; your data is then deleted as described in the Privacy Policy. Unused Boo are lost when an account is deleted. We may close accounts that break these terms or have been inactive for a long time.

11. 11. Our responsibility

    We work hard to keep Vaboo running well, but it’s provided “as is” and “as available”, without guarantees that it will always be available or error-free. To the fullest extent the law allows, TCHR Labs isn’t liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it, or £50, whichever is greater. You agree to cover our reasonable costs from claims caused by your breaking these terms or misusing Vaboo. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can’t be limited.

12. 12. Changes

    We may update these terms. If a change is significant we’ll tell you in the app or by email at least 14 days before it applies. Continuing to use Vaboo after that means you accept the new terms.

13. 13. Law and contact

    These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and its courts have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes, unless your local consumer law says otherwise. Questions about these terms: hello@vaboo.app.
